2010 Is "OUR" Year!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my website. I wish I could talk to everyone in the district face to face. Until then, let me write this as if we’re sitting at your kitchen table having a cup of coffee. I really appreciate your willingness to meet me here and consider supporting me in the race for US Representative in the 2nd Congressional District of Georgia.
Your first question is probably, “Why do you want this job?” I will tell you why I am seeking this job…but I can’t do that without first telling you how I feel about politics. You see, I’ve never considered myself to be a politician. Instead I have always thought of myself as a public servant, and that is all I want to be.
“Politics” is what has corrupted our government and “politicians playing politics” is what is killing our country! It’s really simple if you think about it. If every member of Congress would just do what’s right, everything would be fine in America. But you know as well as I do that is not about to happen with the folks we have in Washington at the present time.
So the only way to change Washington is to change the people in Washington. Now, In SW Georgia we can’t do a whole lot about Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid, but we can do something about Sanford Bishop!
Here’s what I have to offer. I’m a Baptist preacher, a State Representative, former county school board member for fourteen years and served as the mayor of the city of Coolidge for four years. I have an earned doctorate, hold a State Residential Contractors License, ride a motorcycle, drive a dirt track race car on Saturday nights, have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and I love to fish and hunt.
I am a Christian, pro-life, pro-family, pro-second amendment, pro-military, fair-tax candidate that believes in less government, less taxes, securing our borders and finally doing something about illegal immigration…and I just happen to be one of those people who still believes America is the greatest country on the face of the earth! And Sanford Bishop does not represent me anymore!

Mr. Bishop’s votes on the Cap and Trade bill, Pelosi’s Health bill, the stimulus bills, and his co-sponsor of the Card Check bill prove he has stopped listening to you and me. He is firmly aligned with the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and when he comes home he seems to be trying to represent Washington to us rather than us to Washington! These are the people who are going to continue to push for tax-funded abortions, gay marriage, abolishing our gun rights, and their solution for every problem seems to be to throw money at it! Right now they have the majority and they aren’t leading us anywhere, they are trying to push us where they want us to go! Well, I’m not going without a fight! I’m taking the fight to Sanford Bishop and with your help we will boot him out of office in November!
There is too much riding on this 2010 election to be messing around. If we don’t do something now, what kind of country are we going to leave our children and grandchildren? We need someone in Washington who will stand up for us, our way of life, our family values, and someone who will everyday go to work to make SW Georgia a better place to live, work, and raise a family. I’m asking you to hire me to do just that! I will work for you and I will never forget I work for you. I don’t look like much but you can trust me to do what I tell you I will do.
I have committed the time to be on the campaign trail. I have been out meeting people across the district since last August. People see this campaign as a chance to have their voice heard. Every day I pray for the people of the 2nd district. I ask you to pray for me, say a good word about me to your friends and family, place a sign in your yard or a bumper sticker on your car or truck. I need you to contribute to my campaign so I can go toe to toe with Mr. Bishop for the next ten months. Money comes easy for the incumbent and he will have plenty. Help us take your common sense message to Washington.
In the last several days I have had a lot of people say to me…”2010 is going to be your year,” an obvious reference to this race for the US House. I always respond the same way…”No, 2010 is going to be our year,” the year a coalition of Republicans, conservative Democrats, libertarians, Tea Party folks, and independents agree to put together an army that will storm the polls in November and put in office a real representative of the people of SW Georgia!
